Board Games

TVTA is pleased to present a selection of international board games as featured in magazines, comics and catalogues from the 1960s to present. I haven’t included Role Playing Games as there is a section for this here

Some of my favourite games over the years, and indeed this Christmas, have been Stratego, Game of Life, Scrabble, Ludo, Operation, Mousetrap, Trivial Pursuit and Battleship. Do you have a favourite board game? Let me know in the comments.

As always thanks for looking 🙂

1979/80 Miro-Meccano Games Catalogue

This French catalogue by the Miro-Meccano company features many well known board games that were popular not just in France but worldwide. The cover of the catalogue can be translated as Discover, rediscover Miro-Meccano games. Featured on the cover and throughout the pages is superhero brainy type character Miro who presents each game and holds in his hands themed elements such as cards, die and playing pieces. There is no date on the catalogue but going by other adverts I have I would place this around 1979/1980.
