Scooby-Dooby Doooo! (Never Mind The Adverts, Part 18)
Finally, I have it… the Playmobil Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine set 70286!
And what a beauty it is. Enjoy the pics!
Ruh-roh!
That’s all well and good, vintage mates, but where is Scooby-Doo and Shaggy among all this Mystery Machine madness!?!? Readers may recall I already purchased the Scooby, Shaggy and Ghost set a while back: Playmobil Scooby-Doo set 70207
so fear not, The Vintage Toy Advertiser is proud to present a super, mega, ultra, uber comic-book spectacular featuring our dithering duo along with the rest of the gang… in a TVTA tale called:
SCOOBY-DOO AND THE MYSTERY OF THE EVIL GHOST!

Some scans of the paperwork:
Scooby-Doo!! Thanks for looking 🙂
Yay, great find and classic post! Enjoyed the little bonus adventure there 🙂 Looks like a fab set with the Mystery Machine in all its glory.

Yes, Playmobil did such a good job on creating the Mystery Machine as one of its toys. Glad you enjoyed the Playmo bonus story too! 😊

Love all the pictures and your writing- awesome job! I’m a huge Playmobil fan, but don’t have the Mystery Machine yet. I have the Back to the Future and A-Team sets, and hope to get the Knight Rider one soon. Hmm, I may have to do some Playmobil posts sometime… Thanks for your post!

Many thanks Toydust! I was in two minds whether to get the Mystery Machine or the A-Team van – which is super cool and around the same price. In the end the Mystery Machine won as I already had the Scooby and Shaggy figures to complete the set. The Knight Rider vehicle you mention is also very cool! Plus, I love the Ghostbusters vehicle too. Playmobil are spoiling us lol 😁

Mate! What an absolutely brilliant suggestion! I’m definitely going to try and do that as I have a fair few Playmobil toys in the collection.
Great idea, Nick, thanks!! 😁😂😊😎

Your excitement for the set really shines through in your writing! The vintage sets are in such good condition, either the little girl or little boy didn’t play with them at all or he/she just took really good care of their toys.
P.S. I wonder why Playmobile didn’t include scruffy stubble on Shaggy’s chin?

Upon closer inspection I see that the scruff is indeed there! Awesome!

Yes, it’s not so obvious until you see the figure close up. Thanks again for stopping by 😁

Many thanks 😊 The Scooby-Doo Playmobil sets are relatively new and not vintage, and a break somewhat from Playmo’s more traditional line of toys. They also made recently sets for Ghostbusters and Back to the Future.
I love their traditional vintage sets the most, but seeing them embrace pop culture films and cartoons is really exciting!!

Is your Scooby Doo Playmobil set like Lego? Did you get to put it together or did it come assembled?

Good question! There is a fair bit of assembly required though not nearly as much as a Lego set. Plus a few stickers, which were a bit fiddly to apply. It was a fun build and satisfying to add the figures and take a few photos 😁

Thanks for the info. I’ll have to see how readily available these are in the USA. I think my husband would like the Ghostbuster set. He really likes LEGO but I think he’d be okay with these Playmobil kits not having as much assembly required.
