So much style! Pénéla N°12, 1968.

Alongside the many wonderful photos found inside a typical issue, Pénéla featured artist illustrations to accompany famous poems, quotes and short stories.

    • It’s hard sometimes to see a definite statement of decade, as they overlap so much. Sometimes I’m seeing late 50s, sometimes early 70s, yet it always has the 60s vibe. Same as the transition from late 70s to early 80s… the fashions and style are often the same.
Oh, bet those GDR magazines you have are cool to flick through!!

  1. Hi TVTA, some of the images (in issue 12) remind me of Van Gogh’s style – the still life petit dejeuner table in particular (<“petit dejeuner” wow I just recalled that from my French exams at Secondary School). Great images all round, thanks.
