Panda-monium!

Presenting:

This year’s TVTA Halloween pumpkin…

Pumpkin Panda Pink Skater!

Lol 😁

Well, that was fun, and a bit different than what my sketchbook initially suggested… it was supposed to be a bit more, erm, intimidating, but ended up a bit cute (not that I would like to see this thing skating across the floorboards in the middle of the night!).

Pumpkin Panda wasn’t so much a carving this year as a construction piece, with lots of fiddly setting up of slices of pumpkin to make the arms, legs and ears, and then adding the skate parts.

During the build, I saw that one of the pumpkins had started to rot inside … yeuch (note to self not to buy them so early next year)… some of the rotten arm and leg parts are luckily disguised by the skate pads! Then I ran out of white and red paint – she was supposed to be a pink panda, and so I had to change colour scheme to an orange/terracotta (note to self to check art materials next time!) … and then on completion I realised I had no witchy brew to celebrate (note to self to buy more beer) … and then when all was done it took me about an hour and a half to clear up the kitchen in time for dinner… eventually though, I was pleased with this year’s effort (and I got to wear my old Nirvana apron from art session days).

Hope you like Pumpkin Panda Pink Skater πŸŽƒ 🐼

Look out! The editor and pumpkin panda spot nefarious poachers in the middle distance of the TVTA art/kitchen studio and prepare to defend their art!!

      • Haha, it lures you in, all smiley and pink then BAM. Panda-monium! Not heard anything yet (no trick or treaters either) but it’ll probably start up when I go to bed!

      • Haha, the panda works then.
Little secret… I’ve always been a bit freaked out by panda bears – the way they look cute and cuddly but would likely rip your face off if you got within a couple of metres of them in the wild! And those freaky eyes, like they’re rejects from the band KISS or Alice Cooper or something (I know I’m reading far too much into our cuddly friends, but, you know!) 🐼

      • This is quite funny because a few days ago, before your post, I happened across a video of a panda inhaling some bamboo sticks at a zoo, and I thought similar things about the eyes – they’re up to something!

No skateboarding spooks last night, although I did hear a thud – maybe he fell off? πŸ˜„ Lucky the pads and helmet are on!

      • haha, thank goodness for the pads and helmet yes πŸ˜‚πŸ€£
Now you tell me that pandas can inhale bamboo sticks… I’m even more freaked out, and can see menacing bears, black-eyed, stoned-off-their-tits-on-bamboo while falling off skateboards πŸ˜‚

      • Lol, yes. And funny too, because earlier while out I saw a white van driving past – window repairs, with a picture on the van side of a cartoonish panda bear carrying a window?!? I’m not hiring pandas to fix my cracked panes, no way!!

    • Thanks, Chris. Neither did I, in a way! Yay, the pinny is my old apron from art days when I was coordinator art teacher for supported-learning, made by one of my staff. Brilliant to dig it out again for this season. Happy Halloween right back atcha my friend πŸ˜ŽπŸŽƒ
