This Sunday morn, I was making my way to get a baguette and croissants in a part of town I seldom travel, when I came across this polar bear and other street art to make you stop and stare. In truth, I’d seen this the week before, but didn’t have my camera on me. This morning I did 🙂
Below: also by Jean-Marc Navello.
Below: The Kid… (artist unknown)
Below: the town mural. Many French towns and villages have huge murals like this one painted on a side of a building. This scene depicts the town in older and more rural days.
Magic!
Then there is the local primary school… and a huge, magnificent fantasy scene based on the town in magical days before us humans went trudging about early in the morn in search of a baguette and croissants…
Le Rocher of La Garde. The 11th century castle and chapel depicted from alternative views…
Below: perpetuating the myth of certain creatures which inhabit the New York sewer system (and we’re not talking about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles).
Woof! (not Wooof)
Meow! (not Wooof)
And finally, a retro poster found about town… and another polar bear to end a post which began with a polar bear.
If you would like to learn more about polar bears, then check out TVTA’s polar-bear-in-a-fridge!!!
For now, that’s all folks. Thanks for taking an early morning stroll with us 🙂
…. and what a FAB stroll!
Once I get back to GLAM, I’ve a post or 2 to do, then I will reblog this. It’s wonderful! xo

It was such a treat to find this just ten minutes away from where I live in a part of town I seldom go to… and I straightaway thought of you as I snapped my pics :)X

Ahhh, street art!!
It’s no wonder works like the ones you portrayed are enhancing the quality of shared living spaces.
What is strange though, is that towns are hesitant to make them an organic part….
Have a great day my friend.

Our town is mostly inhabited by conservative elderly… the long-standing conservative mayor always wins elections because he has the numbers and makes sure he looks after them by offering tons of free stuff and events for them.
It makes a change here to have something aimed at younger generations and given its own quarter.
Stay safe and well my friend, and enjoy the rest of the weekend 🙂

These are great. I like the cat peering around the corner the best. It looks so real!

Cheers RetroDee – the cat is my favourite too. I pass it each time I come back from work and always say ‘Meow’ to it 🙂 Even now it still sometimes catches me unawares, and I think it’s a real cat peeping from behind the wall.

Is work like this all over France or just where you are? I’m hoping to go to Paris next year.

If you go to Paris you’re gonna love it so much. There is plenty of street art to be seen, especially in the Montmartre area, which is a an impressive and artistic place to visit.
Walking the streets is interesting for the architecture, and the little shops and markets you come across. I found some decent record stores last time and lots of places doing art posters and postcards. Brilliant experience.

Thank you, I am looking forward now although my main objective is to see Jim Morrison’s grave.

Never done any famous grave visits apart from Bruce Lee’s in Seattle.

Cheers, FT. Rarr… haven’t had a Penguin in ages! Used to love them, and their brightly coloured packaging.
Yes, I’m lucky I’m in a nice part of the world at the mo. Finding those street art goodies was a treat. Normally you have to travel into a city to see stuff like that.

Incredible! I thought I was viewing our friend Resa’s blog just for a moment! You certainly live in a much nicer part of the world than I do, there is no art or scenery like this where I am (unless you count the ridge of hills that run down the length of England I can just make out on the horizon from my cave). Beautiful images and town.
And a little joke to end on….Why don’t polar bears eat penguins?….Because they can’t get the wrappers off them! (P…P…P…pick up a Penguin!)

Cheers, FT. Yes, it is a bit like a Resa post you’re right, you could say it’s ‘right up her alley’! I hope she sees it soon, there’s some great art.
Ah, Penguin chocolates! Miss them.

It was good to explore this part of the town a bit more. The artworks went up in 2019, so still fairly new.

Such gorgeous street art! I love the one where it looks like the little black cat is peeking around the corner. 🙂

Yes, it’s ace artwork. The little peeking cat you mention I pass every evening when I cycle home from work, and it still catches me by surprise sometimes, me thinking it’s a real cat as I turn into the alley 🙂

I bet it does! I thought it was a real cat at first when I saw the picture too! 🙂
