TVTA’s new, favourite beer is Pelforth Pelican beer – a northern French beverage with a most agreeable taste and a pleasant kick. The limited edition label designs for these 2019 bottles are a celebration of northern French culture by Lillois artist and designer Kylab
There are eight different label designs to collect, and it only took us five cases to complete the run (being the completist collectors that we are… and -hic- a most pleasant way to enjoy archiving 🙂 )

Amora mustard glasses
The French mustard company Amora has a long tradition of selling its wide range of mustard products in collectable drinking glasses. Featuring designs ranging from Disney characters to Star Wars, Tintin, Barbie, Astérix, Toy Story and many other pop culture entities, these glasses are purchased with mustard inside, then once eaten are washed and used as drinking vessels – a perfect way to recycle and add a range of collectables to your kitchen! Cheers, Wibi! I should do a part two post some day as I keep finding more bottles and glasses around the place. Added to that, there is always the constant stream of products coming onto the market. Do you remember having any types of mustard glasses when in Germany? I believe they are popular there as well as in France.

Agree… that Dubonnet poster is pretty stunning isn’t it 🙂 It was fun putting the post together and seeing how many bottles and glasses I have, then in the comments I realised I still have a few more tucked away I could have added. I also bought some beers this weekend that have a ‘horror’ theme to them… I’ll make a separate post for that when I add some more!

Hi TVTA, another great collection of pics. As always I particularly like the Star Wars glasses, cans and bottles. I recall a brand of drinks (I think it might have been Star Punch) and their cans had a B1 Battle Droid (aka “Roger Roger!”) printed on them. Needless to say this design became quite collectible as the B! droids were nicknamed “Tin-cans” or “Clankers”. A lot of Star Wars fans collected these cans and used them as targets for Nerf Gun games.
And one final new item that might interest you, Coca Cola have brought out a limited edition set of two grab bottles with “The Rise of Skywalker” promotion labels in a collectors crate. What makes the bottles extra special is that the labels (one for Rey and one for Kylo Ren) have built in lights to make the lightsabers glow when pressed!

Cheers FT! Wow, those new Coke Star Wars collector bottles sound brilliant if they have glowing sabers! Will look out to see if they do the same promotion here. My youngest son has some drinking yoghurts with Star wars characters printed on them. they’re still in the cardboard sleeve so haven’t had chance to see them properly yet.

Hi again, I don’t know if it is down to the fact I haven’t done much shopping recently but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of promotion for the new film here in the UK. I have seen one advert on TV for Samsung phones that has a Star Wars theme to it and that’s it! I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on any merch to be honest!

Yes, it’s been a bit quiet here too. There was a Nestlé cereal offer recently, a Kinder Surprise collection, and the yoghurt examples I mentioned earlier, but not much else. Maybe there’ll be a bigger push by companies during and after the film release? I learned a long while ago to hang onto any Star Wars food and drink merchandise as they always become collectable. Do you remember the Walkers Tazos promotion for the Prequel trilogy? I still have my (almost complete) album. If you do see any promos in the UK grab them if you can.

Walker’s Tazos? Ah those little round trading and flip cards…yes I had a few of those but I rarely get to complete collections like these (a bit like my Panini Sticker albums).
I think Disney have done nothing to help promote the film and I don’t think that will change much after the release, they just wanted the franchise so Lucas or whoever he decided to sell the rights to didn’t. They viewed it as “If we can make money off it great, if not we can let it die so no-one else can have it”
Anyhoo I’ll definitely make sure if I see any SW merch I’ll buy it if I can afford to!

Well, I just went to my local supermarket for some weekend supplies and found hardly any SW promos at all. Normally they’re all over the place by now. Almost bought a box of cereals but the pic of Rey on the front was so small it was barely SW related at all. Odd, they did lots of full cover SW cereal boxes for TFA as I saved about four of them.

The various Amora glasses were my favourites here. I remember Nutella did a similar thing… possibly Asterix related (possibly on several occasions) in the late 90’s maybe?

Cheers J! The mustard glases are my favourite too – so many designs to choose from, and the vintage ones I have from the 80s have stayed solid and kept their colour over the years. Maybe glassware is a perfect collectable? Unlike plastic and paper which eventually degrades.
Ah Nutella! I have two glasses by them but they’re only branded with the logo. I think you’re right they did do similar themes like Asterix and the Smurfs.

Well, cheers! Those Christmas ones are really lovely, and the Orangina bottles were totally made for this blog! They’re nicely done, too.
As a kid, I had lots of Aladdin and Lion King stuff – the usual plastic plates and cup sets, but some really nice mugs and glasses too. I hope they’re still in a cupboard somewhere. Just this year I received a Genie mug for my birthday. It was my favourite present!

Your Genie mug was a good birthday gift! Cool. We too had Lion KIng and Aladdin party stuff, and thinking about we still have a fair few cereal bowls and mugs related to Disney, the Smurfs, and Cars that I could have added to this post.
How about Easter mugs? I remember in the UK (and sometimes in France too) you could get mugs with a chocolate egg inside. We have a C-3PO one that’s been in the cupboard a while now, and I remember as a teen having a purple Cadbury’s mug and a Cream Egg cup.

Oh yeah, lots of nice Easter mugs – I remember several Simpsons ones over the years adorned with Homer quotes, and a few Cadbury’s ones. I feel like they’re not as common as they once were, but maybe I’m just missing out. Funny you’ve got me thinking Easter when we haven’t even had Christmas yet… give it a few weeks, though, and Creme Eggs will be in the shops!

I remember there were loads of Simpsons Easter mugs and you reminded me I have one of Bart in the kitchen cupboard. You’ll have to get a new Easter mug next year, and me too (apologies for dashing Christmas out of the way for Easter lol).

My favorites were the Charlie Chaplin, Laurel & Hardy and the Little Rascal glasses from Arby’s. Though, my parents flat out refused to let me eat at Arby’s, so they are still on my short list of future ebay purchases. Someday, perhaps.

Cheers tref! I would have loved to added some more restaurant glasses to this post – especially themes by the likes of Laural & Hardy and Charlie Chaplin as you mention. The vintage ones make for good collectables as, being glass, they’re durable and have lasted over the years. Online auction hunting is the way to go!
