I was sorting through my horror DVDs for some upcoming Halloween viewing and decided to scan a few of the cover images for today’s post. I’m itching to rewatch The Evil Dead, Profondo Rosso (Deep Red), Let The Right One In, Only Lovers Left Alive, and The Company of Wolves…

RE; Dawn of the Dead. I appreciate the longer cut (and the European cut, et al) but Romero has long stated the original released version was the director’s cut. Just watched it again this evening. Such a brilliant film.

  I understand. Some of them can leave a lasting impression. How about comedy horrors like Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Addams Family and such? I still consider these horror, but don’t really think of them as scary or gory.
