  1. Ooh many hours of mis-spent youth here! I played Double Dragon. George Foreman and Shark Attack (I like flight sims) But I was a “Virtua Cop” fan on the Sega Saturn console. Funny story though, there was a coin-op machine of Virtua Cop in a bar and I had had a few drinks but decided to play the machine anyway. Having played it so much at home I maxxed out the high score and afterwards all the other revellers were trying to beat my score not knowing it was impossible!

      • Maybe it’s just me but I thought the Sega platforms were better than the Nintendo and other consoles. I loved Virtua Cop and Wipeout (the original version), then I also had the Sega Game Gear hand-held. It had a colour screen, could play MegaDrive games with an adaptor and had the TV Tuner accessory. Best bit of all that it had a Star Wars game too! I did have to migrate to the Playstation eventually but I still have the Saturn boxed up ready just in case.

      • The only Nintendo I had were some of the Game and Watch handhelds. They were great. Loved my Sega MD and my next move after that, like you, was the Playstation – ah the PS one and two… now there’s another long story isn’t it 🙂 Cool you sill have a boxed Saturn!

  2. Jeez! I remember some of these ads… or at least a variation. The game here I was hooked on was Double Dragon. Hours lost on that. Days. Weeks?

That Lethal Enforcers gun package ad is kinda funny. Well played!

  3. These look fun Game adverts, especially Alien V Predator! That game Mechwarriors rings a bell. Never had the videogame, but sure I had a board game of that one. The board was like a ruined battle field / and the robots were little cardboard stand up figures or something.

  4. I used to love beating the shit out of my friend as Abobo in the 2P VS mode of Double Dragon. I loved the trick to max out the health in level two where you make the enemy disappear and keep swinging your bat at the invisible character. Still didn’t make it that much easier to get to the end, though. PS: Eternal Champions was toilet!
