500th Post at The Vintage Toy Advertiser!

It’s a milestone moment for TVTA as we celebrate our 500th post.

I remember moving over to WordPress in the spring of 2011 and thinking: “well, this seems like a good place to be.” Fast forward a few years and my thoughts haven’t changed a bit. Much of this is down to you, dear readers and fellow bloggers, for checking out, sharing, liking and commenting on my posts and helping to make TVTA’s mission a whole lot of interesting fun. Thanks WP mates šŸ™‚

So, what’s hot off the scanner to celebrate post NĀ° 500… some obscure toy ad? Barbie, Etch A Sketch, Mr. Potato Head, Slinky Dog? No, but there were a few little clues back there wink wink

How about some horror film ads, vinyl records, video games, poetry or kitchen work units?

Nope, none of those. And definitely no clown ads!!

So what is it then?

it had better be good!

It is…

ā€¦ After an executive board meeting with Wooof, the cat and I have decided to celebrate our special 500th toy story with Toy Story! All told in the wonderful style of Japanese chirashi movie posters.

Regular readers will know how much we love our Japanese chirashi around here šŸ™‚

So let’s hand over to Woody and Buzz and co for TVTA’s 500th post ā€¦ Toy Story!

As always, thanks for looking šŸ™‚

  1. Congratulations indeed!

Always enjoy the passion & nostalgia your posts evoke.
Over the weekend we just hit 9 years, and our thoughts
are very similar to those you stated. WordPress has
such a unique diversity that can’t be found elsewhere.

Wishing you all the best in all your endeavors.

    • Thanks man! I noticed I was approaching the mark around post 490 or so, and I had a little time to plan something. Not so obvious seeing the count though – in the old days I recall WP was always sending congratulation notifications for reaching certain amounts of posts, likes, followers and such. Maybe they stop after a certain number. Congrats to you too for reaching (and passing) the big 500!!

      • Thank you! Yeah. I remember WP doing that for 100, I think. Maybe Iā€™ll get one when I get 100 followers. I think I have 90 something. I dunno. I rarely pay attention and just keeping doing what I do.

  3. Hello TVTA and Wooof! BIG CONGRATS guys on reaching 500 posts, that’s no easy task! You say you started on WordPress in 2011? Wow I must have been late to join the party. Loved this post but will have to go…..I’VE GOT A RATTLESNAKE IN MY BOOT!

    • Thanks KO. I just checked out your site and followed. Congrats I love it! My Dinky section here is lacking but due for some additions soon with a re-release catalogue I picked up and a tin plate ad. The Gerry Anderson vehicles and Parsley’s Car are among my favourite Dinky toys. Ultimate though has to be the Space 1999 Eagle. What a beauty! I wish I still had my one from childhood.
