It’s another new entry at TVTA as we present Mebetoys scans from a mid-1970s French catalogue and three Mebetoys pages from a 1973 French Solido catalogue.
Mebetoys was owned by the famous Italian family the Besana brothers who produced and sold highly-detailed die cast cars throughout the 1960s and 1970s. In 1969 Mattel purchased the company freeing the Besana brothers to form the Martoys company which later became one of the biggest and highly respected die cast car makers of all time Bburago.

Thanks for looking 🙂
Hi TVTA, I agree with all that has been said so far, these toys were/are fantastic. You don’t see this type of quality anymore sadly. I owned a Yogi and Boo Boo car but at the time never realised how classic it would become (kids never do I guess!) But I did also have a Bburago model later I loved, a Nissan/Datsun coupe in black, gold and bronze with opening doors and bonnet/hood. Great companies. Thanks again.

The small details like the bike carrier and luggage rack are incredible!

Yes they did a great job with the carrier accessories – bikes, wheels, tyres, skis. Top quality toys. Check out this beauty from their later company Bburago: https://thevintagetoyadvertiser.org/2016/01/15/x-men-sgt-rock-kenner-bburago-ponte-car-bill-and-ted-ps2-and-victor/bburago-renault-14-topolino-1979/

The Yogi and Boo Boo car is great isn’t it. I love the graphics and colours on the catalogue too.
