    • Yes, the Green Lantern one is a completely bonkers story, and that’s saying something for Hostess ads! Surely GL has only has a second or two max to stop the bobsled crashing into the boulder, yet he somehow finds time to get changed into costume before zapping the boulder out of harm’s way. Maybe it was down to the bizarre decision of the bobsled team that had ‘stashed’ all those Twinkies away in their sled, and the weight slowed them down? I really hope DC make a film or series about this to explain πŸ™‚

  1. Remember seeing some of these ads in comic books, always wondered what these fruit pies and Twinkies cakes were like, as we didn’t have anything like that in the UK. They always sounded yummy though, and the mini comic strips with these DC characters were fun πŸ™‚

    • I did try a Twinkie once when I was in the States and enjoyed it. As for the ads they’re great fun, with completely random/silly/ludicrous storylines full of daft puns. I’m not sure if Marvel or DC were first to sign up for the campaign, or the one joined as competition to the other, but it’s always a treat to see our fave superheroes in such unlikely settings, and also what ads turns up next as there were so many of them published.
