i birthed and raised 4 sons (a long time ago) so there were many G.I Joes in my house. Two of them actually became G I Joes. Good luck with your sales.

Thanks Purplestone! I’m just archiving as many vintage images as I can. G.I. Joe was really popular when I grew up in the UK, but it was known as ‘Action Man’ and later ‘Action Force’.
Really cool toys back then. Four kids? I bet you had lots of Lego in your household? And Star Wars toys?

GI Joe had all these action figures and equipment?! I had no idea! Of course, as a girl, Barbie was my drug of choice (all those clothes!), but if I were a boy, I’d be BEGGING my parents for the GI Joe line.

Hi Silver Screenings. Yes, the Joe line is pretty extensive. I managed to get my ‘Barbie fix’ when my daughter used to collect them 🙂

I didn’t have these, but back in the 70’s I had the large action figures and several trucks. They used to beat the crap out of my sister’s Ken dolls. 😀. Cool to see these pictures.

Yep, we had the Action Man 12 inch figures in the late 70s, really cool line of toys! The big brothers of G.I. Joe / Action Force 80s.

I remember looking at these catalogs forever! I also noticed at the time they stopped selling the 82-83 line.

Hi TVTA, I don’t know if it affected you but I had to log in using a Two Step process today (type out my user name then press enter, after which the password entry box became active. I then entered my password and pressed enter a second time to log in. So I think WP have been tweaking the whole platform not just the Likes system.)
Back to G.I. Joe, and I owned the A.W.E. Striker, the Cobra Hiss Tank and a lot of the figures (the best of which was Snake Eyes and his Timber wolf!)

Hi Tyeth. It’s ok logging in, but lots of other weird things going on with WP which I keep having to work around. Used to be able to comment, like, etc while on your own page, now can only do that in an admin panel. WP are always changing things and not always for the best.
Back to Joe, I envy all you people who had this line because they’re such cool figures and accessories. In the UK it was Action Force which was also very cool.

Thanks TVTA, I also had a few of the Action Force branded toys too. There was the SAS characters, a set of Aquanauts and Army figures too. I had the SAS Panther (similar to the A.W.E. Striker but an armoured Land Rover Jeep) and a paratrooper with working parachute. Great toys.

Love it, thanks for sharing it. 1986 was about when I started getting into GI Joe. They won me over with all the flashy characters.
