1970s Dusty and Skye – fashion dolls with a sporting edge

Dusty and Skye were two fashion dolls created by Kenner in 1974. Comparable to Barbie dolls in height, the ‘sportier’ Dusty and Skye came with action features such as moulded hands for gripping their sporting equipment, jointed wrists, moveable waists and bendable knees to enable their many action poses. Other features included a spring-loaded arm action – again to facilitate the sporting themes the doll line specialised in such as tennis, volleyball, softball, gymnastics, horse-riding and golf.
